Carole Jones

Carole Downing Jones, a sescape artist, was born in Cornwall, England : studied art and design at Plymouth College of Art, Devon, and later at St. Martin’s school of Art, London.

She won an art design competition and had work shown at the museum of art in Barnstaple, Devon, U.K.

  • 1970: Worked and trained at an open studio in Cambridge
  • 1971: Worked in the U.S for an advertising Agency. She produced a collection of works, including portraits, whilst travelling the coastal route from San Francisco to Los Angeles
  • 1972: Worked for the Clothing Export Council of Great Britain as a design consultant
  • 1974: Went to live in Zimbabwe where she worked for a South African fashion company
  • 1976: Married in UK and went to live in Seychelles
  • 1978: Painted a large collection of works for an hotel commission in Seychelles
  • 1981: She and her family went to live in Hong Kong
